Questions Answered

1. Purpose of this project: This project got me thinking about the PhD, honestly I underestimated the time and effort required. It has not dissuaded me from the pursuit, it has now become a goal that I must conquer. It has also taken something that I do, and has made it even more exciting. Having had several individuals from the Wargaming Center read the paper, they have come back and sparked new ideas that I will probably pursue going forward. I was asked the question this semester by Dr. Molly Wasko, Associate Professor and Department Chair for Management, Information Systems and Quantitative Methods, “Why are you bothering with a PhD, if you are not going into academia?”… Fair enough question, and it ranks up there with “Why do you want to ride a bicycle across the country?” that I get all the time. The answer is that I need to set high goals and push myself to achieve them, even if it’s only for my inner satisfaction. When I reach them and succeed, it pushes me to go even further. Who knows I may teach someday, but after being in the military for so long, I feel a need to start my own lifestyle business, so the direction it takes is of my doing.

2. Target for the paper – I am talking with the Air University Press on getting the paper published.
